DYK: Post your effort to your fundraising page and you’ll raise 46% more

Sometimes when you’re fundraising it’s hard to know just what to put on your page. After all, what do the people checking out your fundraising really want to see? And will what’s on your page actually affect how much they give?

In a recent everydayhero study of more than 1,000 fundraisers in the world’s largest timed run we found that those fundraisers who connected their MapMyFitness account to their everydayhero account raise more.

And it’s not just a little bit more…

They raised 46% more than those who didn’t connect!

The fundraisers who are the most successful (especially in fitness related events) are the ones that SHOW the effort they are putting in to their activity and take their family and friends along on their journey.

Using MapMyFitness to give your perspiration purpose

If you are sweating it out running, walking or riding for the cause close to your heart then it’s so important that you connect your MapMyFitness and everydayhero accounts.

Managing your connectionsOnce connected, all your public MapMyFitness workouts will be posted automatically to your fundraising page as you log them.

Workout on a fundraising pageThe next step is to then regularly show all the effort you’re giving by sharing the link to your page on Facebook and encouraging your friends to check back and see all your hard work!

Sharing your page and workouts

The struggle is part of the story

With fundraising – as with life – the struggle is part of the story and your struggle is what motivates your donors to give to your page… so don’t miss the opportunity to share it with them.

They want to see your dedication to your fundraising and the cause you love.

They want to know that you really care about what you’re doing.

They want to see all those kilometres covered, time spent training and calories burnt.

Because for them, seeing the effort you’re putting in lets them know that you are serious about making a difference and you’re willing to give what it takes.

And that makes them willing too.
